Our Agony

For when I kept silent, my bones wasted away
through my groaning all day long.
For day and night your hand was heavy upon me;
my strength was dried up as by the heat of summer. PSALM 32:3-4

Not confessing our sins can have a significant emotional impact, causing guilt, shame, and anxiety, negatively affecting our mental and emotional well-being. In Psalm 32, David describes how the burden of sin caused him physical and emotional agony, with his bones wasting away and groaning all day long.

Furthermore, unconfessed sins can affect our relationship with God, creating a barrier that hinders our ability to connect with Him fully. When we have unconfessed sins in our hearts, God may feel distant.

However, when we confess our sins, we acknowledge our wrongs and open ourselves up to receive God's forgiveness and grace. Confession opens the door to reconciliation with God and allows us to move closer to Him. As we observe the Lenten season, let us take time to reflect, confess, and repent of our sins.
