A Joyful Noise

Oh come, let us sing to the LORD; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation!
Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise! PSALM 95:1-2

Today's text encourages us to worship God with joy, thanksgiving, and music, but it's important to remember that our heart attitude truly matters in worship. Worship is not just about going through the motions of singing or playing an instrument but about having a genuine heart of worship toward God.

But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him. God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth." JOHN 4:23-24

Jesus tells us in John 4:23-24 that true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth. Worship is about outward actions and our innermost being, and it's about surrendering our hearts to God, acknowledging His greatness, and expressing our love and gratitude.

We need to develop a personal relationship with God to have a heart of worship. Our relationship is formed through prayer, reading His word, and seeking His will for our lives. When we truly know God, our hearts are filled with awe and reverence, and our worship becomes a natural outpouring of our love for Him.

Our heart attitude in worship should also be one of humility. We need to approach God with a posture of submission, recognizing that He is the Creator of the universe and we are His created beings. We must put aside our agendas, desires, and preferences and seek to honor God above all else.

Dear Church, let us make a joyful noise to the LORD today with a heart full of love and gratitude and a posture of humility and submission. Let us worship God in spirit and truth and allow Him to transform us from the inside out. May our worship be a sweet aroma to Him, and may it bring glory and honor to His name.
