Our Great King

For the Lord is a great God,
and a great King above all gods.
In his hand are the depths of the earth;
the heights of the mountains are his also.
The sea is his, for he made it,
and his hands formed the dry land. PSALM 95:3–5

In today's text, the psalmist begins by acknowledging that the LORD is the great God, the great King above all gods. This statement proclaims God's supremacy over all other gods or powers that people might worship or follow. It's a reminder that only our God, the Creator of all things, including you and me, is worthy of our worship and devotion.

Dear Church, Psalm 95:3-5 is a powerful reminder of God's greatness and sovereignty over all things. It's a call to worship and honor God as the true God, the Creator and ruler of all things. During this Lenten season, may we be reminded of God's power and control over creation and respond with hearts of worship and devotion.
