Waiting patiently

5  I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, 
and in his word I hope; 
6  my soul waits for the Lord 
more than watchmen for the morning, 
more than watchmen for the morning. Psalm 130:5–6

Today's text reminds us of the importance of waiting on the LORD by placing our hope in His promises. It can be easy to get caught up in life's busyness and forget to pause and wait on the Lord. However, as we wait on Him, we can experience His peace and strength.

When we wait on the LORD, we acknowledge He is in control and His timing is perfect. We also recognize that we need Him and cannot do everything alone, and waiting on the LORD requires patience and trust.

The psalmist compares waiting on the LORD to watchmen waiting for the morning. Just as watchmen eagerly await the dawn, we, too, should eagerly await the Lord's provision and guidance in our lives. We can have confidence that just as the morning always comes, the LORD's faithfulness will never fail us.

Dear Church, let us wait on the LORD eagerly, putting our hope in His promises and trusting in His perfect timing. May we remember that His faithfulness endures forever, and He is always with us, guiding us through every moment of our lives.
