In His Name

Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I am going to the Father. Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it. John 14:12-14

In John 14:12-14, we see the power that faith and prayer hold in our lives as followers of Christ. Jesus begins by assuring us that, as believers, we have the potential to do the works that He did. He performed miracles, brought healing, and ministered with divine authority, and He promises that we can do the same. But Jesus doesn't stop there -- He says we will do even greater works because He is going to the Father.

The greater works Jesus speaks of are not for personal gain. However, they are an invitation to participate in God's redemptive work. But how can we achieve this? The answer lies in the verses that follow. Jesus assures us that whatever we ask in His name, He will do it. He instructs us to approach the Father with confidence, knowing that our prayers have the potential to bring glory to God.

When we pray in the name of Jesus, we align ourselves with His will and welcome His intervention in our lives. Our prayers become powerful when rooted in truth, faith, and surrender to God's will.

Dear Church, let us not minimize the power of our faith and prayers. Let us be bold and persistent in believing that God can and will work through us. As we trust in Him and seek His will, we will witness the miraculous unfold in our midst. As you pray, may you walk in the confidence that you are vessels of His power, knowing that through you, He can accomplish the extraordinary for His glory.
